Hoover Washing Machine Fault Codes

E01 – Door lock issue.

Issue: This is probably a problem with the door lock – either the lock itself, the wiring or the lock’s connection to the PCB (Printed Circuit Board) which controls all the electrical functions of your washing machine.

E02 – Insufficient water supply. Possible inlet valve blockage or fault.

Issue: You’ll see this error code if/when the washing machine fails to fill. It indicates there could be a blocked fill hose, or an issue with either the water supply or the valves.
Advice: Check the water fill hose is not kinked, and check the water feed tap is on.

E03 – Draining issue. Blocked filter or waste pipe, possible drain pump fault.

Issue: This error code shows your Hoover washing machine has a drainage problem – most likely a fault with the pump or something blocking the circuit.
Advice:
Please check for blockages in your pump filter, a more detailed guide can be found here. Also check for any blockages in waste water hose and in any under-sink plumbing.

E04 – Too much water in the drum. Probable leak or anti-flood protection fault.

Issue: When this error is displayed, you’ll probably have sprung a leak. Even if water is not visible there may be water in the base of the machine, and it is most likely the anti-flood mechanism is malfunctioning.

E05 – NTC fault. Possible temperature sensor wiring issue.

Issue: This error code relates to the NTC in your hoover washing machine. This device is a temperature sensor that connects to the heating element, ensuring that the washer is at the correct temperature while progressing through the cycle. A faulty NTC could need a replacement, or be a simple problem like a loose connection.

E06 – Unbalanced load or control board issue.

Issue: If you see this code displayed immediately after the Hoover washer stops spinning then it indicates that the machine is out of balance. It could also, however, signal a problem with the control board.
Advice: Reloading your appliance and then restarting should solve this problem. Furthermore, levelling all the feet on the appliance will help.

E07 – Motor fault or motor wiring issue. In some models, a possible door lock fault.

Issue: This is a potentially serious indicator of a motor fault, resulting in the machine failing to operate, which necessitates checking the wiring and the motor itself.

E08 – Motor speed sensor fault.

Issue: Coupled with fluctuating spinning speeds, this code shows that there is an issue with the motor speed sensor. The machine may spin superfast for a few seconds then slow down and stop, or it may not spin at all.

E09 – Control board issue. Short circuit in the motor triac.

Issue: This is indicative of a short circuit in the motor triac (which controls the spin speed) on the electronic module in your Hoover washer. It will no doubt require replacement.

E10 – Drum sensor fault or timer fault (in older models).

Issue: On older Hoover washing machine models this fault code shows a problem with the timer, or it could mean an issue with the drum sensor.

E15 – Control board is corrupted or the circuit board needs reprogramming.

Issue: An indication that the circuit board needs re-programming, or the memory chip has become corrupted.

E16 – Water heater fault.

Issue: This will probably go along with the power tripping out in your house, because your washing machine has a faulty water heater – probably a broken heating element – which will blow the fuse.

E17 – Motor tachometer fault or motor tachometer wiring issue.

Issue: This code shows there is a problem with the motor tachometer – the part that controls the speed of the washing machine motor. The motor tachometer will no doubt have to be replaced, unless it is a fault with the wiring and connections.

E18 – Washing machine control board fault.

Issue: When you see this code be prepared for the worst! It indicates a problem with the washing machine control board – a part that is the heart of your Hoover Washing Machine. The control board can only be replaced by a trained professional, so it’s time to call in the experts.
